Mary Lou Svoboda

Mary Lou Weber Svoboda, 77, Herington, died Nov. 9 at her daughter’s home near Bennett, Colorado. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Pilsen. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery, Pilsen.

She was born Aug. 5, 1941, at home near Maize, the daughter of Anthony “Tony” and Pauline Strunk Weber.

She married John Svoboda June 7, 1962, at St. Mark’s Catholic Church, Colwich.

She is survived by five children, Annette Wilson, Seneca, Jane Benz, Bennett, Colorado, Cheryl Svoboda, Walla Walla, Washington, Clare Curtis, Panama City, Florida, and Thomas Svoboda, Junction City; 18 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Virginia Stump, Wichita, Pat Paulsen, Oshkosh, Nebraska, and Dorothy Williams, Dawsonville, Georgia; two brothers, Charles Weber, Shawnee, and Don Weber, Wichita.

She was preceded by her husband, John, and two brothers, Ralph and Robert Weber.

Memorials to Father Kapaun Guild, St. Theresa’s Catholic Church of Dighton, or a library.
