These offense reports were released this past week by law enforcement agencies:

SHERIFF

Domestic battery

A Marion woman suffered injuries termed as minor, and a pair of ear buds valued at $100 was damaged in an altercation among family members between 8:32 and 10:37 p.m. Feb. 14 at a residence in the 100 block of Ashley Dr. in Marion.

Arrested was Nicole P. Newton, 28, Marion. She was released from jail 18 hours later after posting a $1,000 bond.

Victim Ashley N. Newton’s age and relationship to the perpetrator were redacted by a public record of the incident.

Despite the report of damage to ear buds, no allegation of criminal damage to property was made.

Monitored transmissions indicate that as many as five sheriff’s officers responded to the call.

Burglary

A door and door knob sustained damage characterized as minor between 1:30 p.m. Feb. 19 and 6:45 a.m. Feb. 20 after someone attempted to force his or her way into the Goessel Post Office at 207 E. Main St. Nothing was reported as stolen.

Burglary

A front door sustained damage characterized as minor between 2:15 and 4 p.m. Feb. 22 in an apparent attempt to break in to a farmhouse on K-15 and 80th Rd.

Owners Johnnie L. and Bertha Hiebert reported that nothing appeared to have been stolen.

HILLSBORO

Theft

Police are seeking an older red Toyota Tundra driven by a person described only as a white male in connection with a brazen daylight theft of a catalytic converter from a vehicle parked at Pizza Hut, 903 E. D St.

Employee Blake Kaiser parked his 2006 Toyota pickup in the southeast corner of the restaurant’s parking lot when he went to work Saturday. At 3:30 p.m., he notified police that someone had cut a $2,000 catalytic converter off his truck while he was working.

Police the Tundra they are looking for is thought to be connected to several other crimes in the county.

Domestic battery, criminal damage, disorderly conduct

An argument over a spilled drink and Internet service being shut off led to the arrest Saturday of a rural Lehigh teen.

Johannah R. Latham was discovered walking away from a small rental home in the 100 block of S. Lincoln St. after a sibling telephoned dispatchers to say that Latham was “throwing things around and trying to hurt people.”

Neither alcohol nor drugs were involved, according to monitored dispatches.

Upon investigating, officer John Huebert reported that a television set had been damaged and that Latham had struck or touched her brother and mother during the quarrel.

Latham was booked into county jail on suspicion of domestic battery and criminal damage to property.

Police, who listed Latham’s age as 19, included an additional potential charge of disorderly conduct. However, it was not reflected on jail records, which listed Latham as 18 instead of 19 years old.

She was released from jail Tuesday without bond.

MARION

Violation of protective order

Sarah V. Smith, 44, Marion was arrested at 5:27 p.m. Sunday on suspicion of violating an anti-stalking order at a Jex Addition storage lot and campsite owned by Darryl Brewer, Marion.

Smith, who was arrested on suspicion of drug charges in December, was released the next morning without bail, according to jail records. Her name was obtained from those records. It was not included in the public portion of officer Zach Hudlin’s offense report issued in the case.

The name and age of the victim likewise was redacted from the open record portion of the report, leaving only his home address, race, gender, height, weight, and eye color. Monitored transmissions indicate that the order Smith was accused of violating was issued to protect Brewer.

The lot and campsite are in the 300 block of Grant St.
