HILLSBORO

Criminal damage

An estimated $999 in damage was done between 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Friday to a 2003 Ford F-150 owned by Frank L. Svitak, 66, Pilsen, and parked outside Hillsboro High School by 14-year-old Thurston J. Silhan of rural Hillsboro.

Drunken driving while using cell phone

Stopped at 2:54 a.m. Sunday in the 400 block of E. 1st St. for using a cell phone while driving, Lane H. Mayfield, 18, Hillsboro, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol after he allegedly failed field sobriety tests and a breath test.

He was taken to county jail and released three hours later after posting a $2,500 bond.
