ACTIVITY REPORTS
Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded. Dates may reflect starting or ending dates of officers’ shifts rather than actual dates of occurrence.
HILLSBORO
Dec. 2 — A person yelling in the 900 block of E. D St. told police he was having a bad day. A tree branch was removed from the 200 block of N. Cedar St.
Dec. 3 — A driver was warned for running a stop sign in the 200 block of N. Main St. Police stood by during a civil matter in the 100 block of S. Cedar St. A vehicle that allegedly was following another too closely on K-15 north of Hillsboro apparently turned off in Durham and was not found.
Dec. 4 — A driver was ticketed for speeding on 190th Rd. just west of town. No problems were found in checking a report of suspicious activity near Washington and A Sts. Debris was removed at US-56 and Adams St. Police conducted background checks for food truck vendors, conferred with Department of Children and Families officials about an investigation, and again stood by during a civil matter in the 100 block of S. Cedar St.
Thursday — Police located the owner of a dog loose in the 200 block of Elm St. and conducted a background check for the U.S. military but could not find a resident they attempted to check on in the 100 block of Jefferson St. Street lights were checked.
Friday — A credit card found at Tabor College’s coffee shop was returned to its owner. Unspecified other property was found at Ampride. A resident discussed a civil issue with police.
Saturday — Police investigated a driving complaint in the 200 block of Date St. and talked to a resident about a civil matter.
Sunday — Routine activities.
MARION
Dec. 2 — Three drivers were warned for speeding on US-56 — two near Cedar St. and one near Timber Rd. Another was warned about having defective equipment at US-56 and Industrial St. Police followed up on an unspecified case at Animal Health Center and checked on a resident of the 100 block of W. Santa Fe St.
Dec. 3 — Police determined no crime was committed after investigating a report of theft of services in the 400 block of S. Roosevelt St. Three drivers were warned for speeding on US-56 at Timber Rd., Industrial St., and Cedar St.
Dec. 4 — A trespassing complaint in the 1500 block of E. Main St. was investigated. Police checked on a resident of the 200 block of Elm St.
Thursday — Drivers were warned for having defective equipment on US-56 at Industrial St. and Cedar St.
Friday — A 16-year-old driver was injured in a car-deer collision on US-56 west of Industrial St. Police checked on a resident of the 200 block of Forest St. Drivers were warned for speeding at Cedar and Hudson Sts. and at US-56 and Timber Rd. and for having defective equipment at US-56 and Cedar St.
Saturday — Police provided fuel for a driver who ran out of it on US-56 at Timber Rd. No problems were found in checking on a disturbance in the 1000 block of E. Main St. A parking complaint in the 100 block of N. Roosevelt St. was investigated. Drivers were warned for speeding on US-56 at Timber Rd. and for having defective equipment at US-56 and Industrial St.
Sunday — Investigation of two dogs that attacked a calf in the 300 block of Burbridge St. before being returned to their owner in the 300 block of Grant St. is continuing. Two motorists on US-56 were warned for speeding and one was warned for having defective equipment
