ACTIVITY REPORTS

Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded. Dates may reflect starting or ending dates of officers’ shifts rather than actual dates of occurrence.

HILLSBORO

Jan. 6 — Police helped three drivers stuck in snowdrifts, investigated driving complaints at Casey’s General Store and in the 300 block of N. Adams St., and helped a resident locked out of a house. A disconnected 911 call was attributed to a child playing with a phone.

Jan. 7 — Routine activities.

Jan. 8 — Police talked to Main St. business owners about snow removal and attempted to check on a person who formerly lived in the 200 block of S. Lincoln St. A vehicle in the 200 block of S. Washington St. was repossessed.

Thursday — Police helped drivers stuck in snow in the 100 block of S. Main St., in the 300 block of W. 3rd St., and at Ampride. They also directed traffic while a semi stuck in snow on Industrial St. was extricated. A vehicle reportedly stuck at 190th and Golden Rod Rds. was not found. A driver at Ash St. and Orchard Dr. was warned about making an exhibition of speed. A resident talked to police about a civil issue.

Friday — Police helped drivers stuck in snow in the 500 block of S. Main St. and the 500 block of S. Lincoln St.

Saturday — A domestic quarrel in the 200 block of S. Lincoln St. and a possible gas leak in the 300 block of S. Ash St. were investigated. Police helped drivers stuck in snow at 100th and Indigo Rds. and in the 400 block of S. Main St. A driver in the 500 block of S. Washington St. was warned to clear windshield ice and snow.

Sunday — Traffic southbound on icy Indigo Rd., blocked by a semi, was redirected at Willow Glen Ln. Police checked on residents of the 400 block of N. Ash St. and the 500 block of W. D St.

MARION

Jan. 6 — A hit-and-run accident involving a city snowplow was reported in the 300 block of E. Santa Fe St. Police helped a stranded motorist in the 1200 block of Commercial St. and talked to a resident about a parking complaint in the 300 block of Locust St.

Jan. 7 — An unattended death was reported in the 400 block of S. Lincoln St. Police transported to county jail Michelle Butts, 42, after helping sheriff’s deputies investigate a domestic disturbance, for which no offense report has yet been released, near 120th and Pawnee Rds.

Jan. 8 — Police helped a driver stuck near Eisenhower Dr. and Lawrence St. No problems were found in responding to an alarm in the 100 block of S. 2nd St.

Thursday — Police helped a driver stuck near 5th and Main Sts. and took to a veterinary clinic a dog that had been loose in the 1000 block of E. Main St..

Friday — Police helped two drivers stuck near Roosevelt and Hudson Sts.

Saturday — Police helped a driver stuck in the 300 block of N. 3rd St.
