Woman is second COVID-19 case this week

A woman in her 30s with a probable case of COVID-19 brought the county’s total number of cases to 99 Friday.

One case active at this time and no one is hospitalized, the health department said.

A man in his 30s was reported to have a laboratory confirmed case of the virus Wednesday. His diagnosis broke a week’s reprieve from cases reported.

People who have been in contact less than six feet away for 10 minutes or longer with someone who has COVID-19 are put in quarantine for two weeks to see whether they develop symptoms of the disease.

The department has declined to say how many people have been quarantined.

The health department reports 1,735 COVID-19 tests have been performed, with 1,636 negative test results.

The health department continues to advise people to stay home when they are sick, practice social distancing of six or more feet away from others, wash hands frequently and for 20 seconds or longer, and wear a mask in public.
